Summary: Wild Plot Bunny by http://ko-bands.livejournal.com/ After TVXQ's official break up, the now retired Yunho makes a list of all the things he regrets not doing, and he makes a plan to get through the list within the next two years (he doesn't want to be one of those people that makes a plan and never gets around to it, so he gives himself a deadline. The list has some silly things on it, some dangerous things, and some inspirational things. There is over a hundred, and #22 on the list is: confess to Kim Jaejoong the way he's felt for him all these years.
“What are you doing, hyung?” Changmin entered the dimly lit kitchen. Yunho was sitting at the table writing something.
“Writing a list,” he replied not looking up from the piece of paper.
Changmin snatched the paper from his friend. “Is this some kind of bucket list? Are you dying?”
“No. I’m not dying. This is just a list of things I didn’t get to do that I really want to do.”
Changmin scanned the list, “you are crazy, hyung. You know that right?”
“Yes, I know.” Yunho snatched the list back from his friend.
“You’re healthy though, right? You’re not sick and not telling me? Because I will find out.”
“I’m fine. I don’t have cancer or a weak heart. I don’t have a fetus growing in my brain. I didn’t stay out in the rain and get pneumonia.”
Changmin laughed, “you watch too many dramas.”
Yunho watched as Changmin left the kitchen, feeling melancholy as he gazed around the room. It was their last night together in that apartment. Their last night together as TVXQ.
Changmin was leaving first thing in the morning. Yunho was moving out at the end of the week. In all honesty, he was excited; he couldn’t remember the last time he lived alone. But at the same time he was scared. He had always been surrounded by friends and family.
But still, he allowed the little things get him excited about the move; being able to walk around naked, being as loud as he wanted in the morning, being able to bring home girls when ever he wanted… Or boys, he still wasn’t sure which he preferred.
He sighed, flicked off the light and walked down the hall to his room. He stopped in front of Changmin’s door.
Yunho tested the handle and found it unlocked. They had a rule between them; if the door was unlocked the other was free to come in. He hesitated, thinking of all the nights they spent together.
He thought about the first time he slid into the younger man’s bed. Yunho was tired, stressed, and just needed the comfort of another person.
And Changmin was there for him. As Yunho cried, Changmin held him.
That was just the beginning. It started off innocently enough. Hugs, cuddling, just for that comforting embrace of another human being.
It was Changmin, actually, who brought their relationship to… What ever it is now.
Sure, they fucked, cuddled, whispered ‘I love you’s’ and ‘I need you’s’ in the intimate safety that is darkness. Yunho would never call Changmin his boyfriend, far from it really. So what did that make them? Fuck buddies? Lovers? Yunho wasn’t really sure.
“Hyung? What are you doing?” Changmin yawned as he opened the door.
“Sorry. I was just… Thinking.”
“I don’t know. Just everything.”
“Go lay down.”
“Where are you going?”
“To get water. Go lay down.”
Yunho crawled into the bed and was immediately surrounded by Changmin’s spicy scent. He was going to miss this. The closeness that he and Changmin shared.
He felt the bed sink as Changmin laid down. Yunho rolled over and rested his head on his friend’s chest. Changmin’s arms wrapped around Yunho’s waist easily. It was their favorite position to be in; Yunho loved the sound of Changmin’s heartbeat and Changmin enjoyed Yunho’s warmth.
They were quiet for a long time.
“So, what’s on your mind?” Changmin played with Yunho’s hair. “What has you standing in front of my door instead of going to sleep?”
“Just, everything.” Yunho rolled on to his back and stared at the ceiling. “It’s going to be weird.”
“Because it’s oh so normal now.”
“That’s not what I mean.” Yunho huffed, “I’m going to miss you. I haven’t lived alone in a long time. It’s going to be odd not having some one else in the house.”
“You know I’ll be over all the time. And you’ll be at my place a lot.”
“I know.” Yunho reached for Changmin’s hand. “Will you help me complete my list?”
“Maybe. What’s number one?”
“Go on vacation. A real vacation, with out cameras following me around.”
“That sounds like fun. I want to go to Aruba.”
“Hey, this is my list,” Yunho smiled. “I was thinking somewhere cold, like Alaska.”
“What the hell is there to do in Alaska? I mean besides freeze to death. How about we go to New York for Christmas?”
“You’re a genius.” Yunho leaned over and kissed Changmin’s cheek.
Changmin smiled. “I’m going to miss you, too. This is… Comfortable and familiar.”
Yunho stared at Changmin in the darkness. They spoke softly; comforting and supportive words until they fell asleep holding each other close.
